GREENSBORO, N.C. - The 2011 Atlantic Coast Conference Men's & Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships will kick off Thursday, Feb. 24 at Rector Field House on the campus of Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Va., and will continue through Saturday, Feb. 26.

Virginia Tech will host to the championship for the fourth time since joining the league in 2004 and eighth overall. Host institutions have won the men's championship a total of seven times, but none have accomplished the feat since Maryland in 1979. North Carolina is the only women's team to win the league title on its campus, having done so in 2003.
The Florida State men are seeking their eighth consecutive conference title and ninth overall. Six of their titles have come under head coach Bob Braman. Maryland's men lead all league teams with 26 overall titles.
On the women's side, Clemson is aiming to successfully defend its 2010 championship and claim its third overall. Last season's crown was the first under head coach Lawrence Johnson. North Carolina's women have clinched a conference-leading 15 titles.
In addition to seeking a conference title, ACC student-athletes will be in search of either provisional or automatic qualifying times in hopes of earning a berth to the 2011 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships.
