GREENSBORO, N.C. – Virginia senior Marcus Robinson has been named the ACC Indoor Track & Field Men’s Performer of the Week, announced by the conference on Tuesday. Florida State senior Michelle Jenije was named the ACC Women’s Performer of the Week for her performance at the Razorback Invitational.
Robinson broke the Virginia school record and qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships in the triple jump with a mark of 16.30m (53’5.75”), the No. 1 mark in the nation so far this season. The Richmond, Va., native broke a record that had stood since 1976 by more than five inches.
Jenije scored her second victory of the season when she posted a winning mark of 13.15m (43’1.75”) at the Razorback Invitational, which featured eight ranked teams. The native of Tallahassee, Fla., currently ranks third in the nation in the triple jump and first in the conference. She came within .04 of her career-best indoor mark, and improved on her winning time at the Alabama Invitational (12.83m) three weeks ago.
