GREENSBORO, N.C. - Florida State senior Brandon Byram and Virginia's Adams Abdulrazaaq registered nation-leading times at the Hokie Invitational en route to being recognized as the Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Indoor Track & Field Co-Performers of the Week presented by Chevrolet. Duke senior Kate Van Buskirk set a collegiate record in the 1000 meters at the same meet and has been selected the league's Women's Performer of the Week presented by Chevrolet.
Byram bested a field of 36 in the 300 meter dash with a time of 33.19 as Florida State competed at the Hokie Invitational Friday and Saturday. A native of Gallatin, Tenn., his time is the fastest ever by a Seminole and also currently ranks first in the country.
Abdulrazaaq, a senior from Highland Springs, Va., won his fifth- and sixth-straight 60-meter hurdles to remain undefeated in the event this season. His personal best time of 7.75 in the finals bettered his own school record for a second time this season and currently ranks fourth in the nation.
Van Buskirk ran to a collegiate record in the women's 1000 meters Saturday at the Hokie Invitational, registering a time of 2:41.00. The previous record of 2:41.56 was set in 1989. The Brampton, Ontario, native also anchored the victorious 4x800 relay squad Friday, which posted a school record time of 8:42.54.
