GREENSBORO, N.C. - Clemson sophomore Spencer Adams posted two top-five finishes at the Clemson Invitational en route to being recognized as the Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Indoor Track & Field Performer of the Week. His teammate, sophomore Jasmine Edgerson, won the 60-meter dash and has been named the league's Women's Performer of the Week.
Adams was the top collegiate finisher in the 60-meter hurdles at the Clemson Invitational with a time of 7.90. He placed second in a field of 23, and his mark currently ranks fourth nationally. After rejoining the team just three days before the meet due to football, the Charlotte, N.C., native took fifth among a field of 24 in the 300-meter dash, registering a time of 35.29.
Edgerson took first place in the 60-meter dash at the Clemson Invitational with a time of 7.37, which is good for third-best in school history. The mark currently ranks third nationally. The Marietta, Ga., native also finished third in the 60-meter hurdles. Her time of 8:40 in the event is currently good for fifth in the country and also puts her at sixth in the Clemson record books.
The Tigers return to action Saturday when they host Auburn, Georgia and conference foe Miami. The Boston College women's team will be competing Thursday at the Boston University Invitational. Six league teams face off as Florida State, North Carolina, NC State, Virginia and Wake Forest travel to the Virginia Tech Invitational Friday and Saturday, while Georgia Tech competes at the Kentucky Invitational and Maryland is at the Penn State Invitational on Saturday.
