GREENSBORO, N.C. - North Carolina senior Tommy Wyher won two individual events en route to being named the first ACC Swimming & Diver Men's Performer of the Week for the 2010-11 season. Duke's Christine Wixted set four pool records and has been tabbed co-Women's Performer of the Week along with Virginia's Lauren Perdue, who posted two NCAA B qualifying times.

In addition to his two individual wins, Wyher swam on two victorious relays as No. 13 North Carolina downed No. 9 Georgia 183-117, earning the Tar Heels their second straight dual meet win over the Bulldogs. The New Port Richey, Fla., native had NCAA B qualifying times in both the 100 back and 100 fly as he scored wins in both events, taking the 100 back by almost a full two seconds. Wyher also swam legs on two relays as the Tar Heels recorded NCAA B times in both. He split 21.12 in the fly leg of the 200 medley relay and posted the fastest split on the 400 free relay at 44.53.

Wixted, competing in her first collegiate meet, registered first-place finishes in the three events she competed in at a dual meet hosted by UNCW. The Greenwood Village, Colo., native set pool records in both the 100 breast and 200 IM. She continued her success the next week against conference foe Maryland, earning three more top spots. She posted pool records in both the 100 and 200 breast, while also recording NCAA B times in each event.

Perdue garnered victories in two individual events, posting B times in the 100 and 200 free, while also swimming a leg on the winning 400 free relay team in Virginia's season opener against Florida. The Greenville, N.C., native edged 2008 United States Olympian Elizabeth Beisel by nine-tenths of a second in the 200 free to take the top spot. Leading off in the relay, Perdue helped the Cavaliers earn an NCAA B mark in the event.
