GREENSBORO, N.C. – Virginia sophomore Charlotte Clarke has been named the ACC Swimming & Diving Women’s Performer of the Week, announced by the conference on Tuesday. NC State sophomore Jonathan Boffa was named the ACC Men’s Performer of the Week.
Clarke helped the Virginia women beat NC State to finish the season with an undefeated 8-0 mark in dual meets. The sophomore led off the victorious 200 medley relay, which finished with an NCAA B time of 1:42.35. The native of Adelaide, Australia, went on to take first-place honors in the 100 backstroke with another B standard of 54.30 and placed second behind teammate Caroline Kenney in the 200 backstroke.
Boffa won all five events he swam in against Virginia – three individual and two relays – and posted a NCAA B mark in every race. He finished all three of his individual races with times that rank in the top 10 in the conference this season. The Verona, Italy, native posted the sixth best time in school history in the 50 freestyle and the fourth fastest in the 100 freestyle. Boffa now has hit NCAA B cuts in eight different events this year.
