GREENSBORO, N.C. – Virginia junior Lauren Perdue has been named the ACC Swimming & Diving Women’s Performer of the Week, announced by the conference on Tuesday. North Carolina freshman Dominick Glavich was named the ACC Men’s Performer of the Week.
Perdue captured two individual events and was part of the 400 free relay team that won to help the Cavaliers beat North Carolina. The Greenville, N.C., native, who was swimming in her first meet in over a month due to injury, finished all three of her events with NCAA B qualifying times.
Glavich won five individual events and swam on one winning relay to lead the Tar Heels to conference wins over Clemson and 12th-ranked Virginia. He began the week by winning both butterfly events against the Tigers and helping the 200 medley relay team post a NCAA B qualifying time. The Cary, N.C., native saved his best for last as he swept all three of his individual events – including two wins late in the meet after Virginia had cut the lead to single digits – to help North Carolina beat the Cavaliers for only the second time since 1998.
