Six Squads Ranked in NSCAA Preseason Poll

ACC leads all leagues with six ranked teams

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Six ACC men’s soccer teams, including defending national champion Virginia, are ranked in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Preseason Poll, announced today. The total is the most from any conference in the country.

The Cavaliers lead the league contingent with a No. 2 ranking, followed by No. 4 Notre Dame and No. 5 North Carolina. Defending ACC champion Clemson is ranked No. 11, followed No. 15 Syracuse and No. 18 Louisville.

The ACC placed seven teams in the NCAA Tournament field in 2014, marking the second-straight year that the league has had the most teams from any conference. Virginia’s national title was the seventh in the last 10 years by an ACC squad.
