Seven Named to Naismith Trophy Early Season Watch List

Duke, Florida State, Miami and Notre Dame represented

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) - Seven women’s basketball players from the Atlantic Coast Conference were named to the Naismith Trophy’s Early Season Watch List, the Atlanta Tipoff Club announced.

The watch list includes 50 of the top women’s collegiate basketball players who will be in the conversation for the prestigious honor. Named in honor of Dr. James Naismith, inventor of the game of basketball, the Naismith Trophy recognizes the top Men’s and Women’s College Basketball Players of the Year.

The ACC’s seven selections include Duke’s Azura Stevens and Rebecca Greenwell, Florida State’s Adut Bulgak and Leticia Romero, Notre Dame’s Lindsay Allen and Brianna Turner, and Miami’s Adrienne Motley. Stevens, Greenwell, Bulgak, Romero, Allen and Turner are also on the Wooden Award Preseason Top 30 list.

The Naismith Midseason 30 list will be announced on February 10 followed by the 10 semifinalists on March 3. The four finalists for the award will be announced on March 18, with the winner presented on April 4.
