Of note: The Cardinals have won both meetings against the Orange since joining the ACC, including a 41-17 victory at Louisville last Nov. 7 ... Kyle Bolin threw for a season-high 362 yards and three touchdowns, and the Cardinals piled up 579 yards total offense in last year’s win ... The Orange’s last win over Louisville was a 45-26 decision at the Carrier Dome in 2012 ... All 14 series games between the teams have come since 1985, including the 1989 Coca-Cola Bowl in Tokyo.

Ones to watch: WR Jamari Staples - one of 16 players with at least one catch against Charlotte - led Louisville with four receptions for 83 yards in the win ... Graduate transfer WR Amba Etta-Tawo caught a career-best 12 passes for 210 yards and a TD in his Syracuse debut vs. Colgate.

Of note: Saturday marks the 97th meeting in this in-state rivalry that was first played in 1893, but the first since the Panthers’ 12-0 victory in 2000 at old Three Rivers Stadium ... The schools played every season from 1900-31 and 1935-92. Following a four-year break, the series resumed for four games from 1997-2000 before its current hiatus ... The teams are now set to meet each of the next four seasons, with each school serving as the host team twice.

Ones to watch: Penn State QB Trace McSorley threw for 209 yards and a pair of touchdowns to lead the win over Kent State ... Pitt WR Quadree Henderson returned the second-half kickoff 96 yards for a score to break the game open against Villanova.

UMass veteran coach Mark Whipple’s resume includes an ACC stint as Miami’s offensive coordinator in 2009 and 2010.

Ones to watch: Boston College junior middle LB Connor Strachan recorded a career-high and a game-high four tackles for a loss against Georgia Tech ... UMass LB Teddy Lowery led the Minutemen with 11 tackles in last Saturday’s game at Florida.

The Seminoles currently own a 21-game homefield winning streak, which stands as the longest currently held by an FBS team.

Ones to watch:  RB Alan Barnwell led CSU’s rushing attack against Kentucky State with 108 yards on just four carries ...Redshirt freshman QB Deondre Francois led Florida State to the biggest comeback victory in school history by passing for 419 yards and two touchdowns vs. Ole Miss.

Clemson defeated Troy 43-19 in their lone previous meeting in 2011 but trailed 16-13 at halftime of that contest.

Ones to watch: RB Jordan Chunn rushed for 161 yards on 13 carries in Troy’s win over Austin Peay, including a 48-yard TD run on the first play from scrimmage ... Clemson WR Mike Williams returned from last season’s injury to make nine catches for 174 yards against Auburn.

Tech has shut out Mercer in the last six meetings (including a 105-0 win in 1914), and in nine of the last 10 series matchups ... The Bears’ lone win over the Yellow Jackets came by a 12-6 margin in the series opener in 1892, and the teams tied 12-12 in 1896.

Ones to watch: Mercer senior LB Tyler Ward recorded nine tackles - including five solo stops and two tackles for loss - against the Citadel ...Georgia Tech A-back Qua Searcy had three key catches vs. BC, including a 22-yarder on fourth-and-19 that kept the Jackets’ game-winning drive alive.

Miami RB Joseph Yearby accounted 243 total yards and two touchdowns last year against the Owls, including 146 yards on the ground.

Ones to watch: Florida Atlantic RB Buddy Howell rushed for 128 yards and scored a pair of touchdowns against Southern Illinois ... Miami RB Mark Walton rushed for a career-high 116 yards to lead a team effort of 373 rushing yards in the win over FAMU.

Last year’s 48-14 UNC win in Chapel Hill saw WR Ryan Switzer pile up 168 punt-return yards to break a UNC single-game record that had stood since 1951 ... Switzer scored on an 85-yard punt return and also caught a 34-yard touchdown pass.

Ones to watch: UNC RB T.J. Logan had a 95-yard kickoff return and a 21-yard run for touchdowns in the Tar Heels’ season opener vs. Georgia ...  QB Wes Lunt threw for 226 yards and three touchdowns to lead Illinois to last week’s win in head coach Lovie Smith’s debut at the school.

Ones to watch: Tennessee RB Jalen Hurd rushed for 112 yards vs. Appalachian State, surpassing the 100-yard barrier for the fourth-consecutive game ... QB Jerod Evans threw for 221 yards and four touchdown in his first game as a Hokie to lead Virginia Tech past Liberty.

It is also the fourth season in a row that UVA’s regular-season slate includes a team from the Pac-12 ... Saturday night’s game concludes a home-and-home set that began with the Ducks’ 59-10 win in Charlottesville in the first meeting of the programs in 2013.

Ones to watch: QB Kurt Benkert threw for three touchdowns against Richmond last Saturday in his first start at Virginia  ... Oregon freshman LB Troy Dye had 11 tackles, including 4.5 for loss with one sack, and blocked a field goal in the win over UC Davis.
