MIAMI GARDENS, FLA.(GoHeels.com)—Mitch Trubisky had another big day passing the ball as North Carolina beat a ranked opponent on the road in Atlantic Coast Conference play for the second time in three games, 20-13, at No. 16 Miami on Saturday afternoon.

The Tar Heels improved to 5-2 overall this season, 3-1 in ACC play, bouncing back from last week's home loss to Virginia Tech. Miami fell to 4-2, 1-2.

Trubisky completed 33 of 46 pass attempts for 299 yards and two touchdowns. Bug Howard had a big day catching the ball, making 10 receptions for 156 yards.

As a team, Carolina converted 14 of 23 third-down attempts while holding the Hurricanes to 4 of 15.

Miami had a chance to mount a game-tying driving in the closing minutes of the game before the Carolina defense came up big.  Malik Carney wrapped up the win with a sack and caused fumble with 1:31 left in the fourth quarter.  Jeremiah Clarke recovered the fumble and the Tar Heels ran out the clock.
