Games involving Atlantic Coast Conference football teams continue to hit home with television viewers.

Second-ranked Florida State’s heart-stopping 31-27 win over fifth-ranked Notre Dame last Saturday night on ABC went down as the most-viewed October college football telecast on record, on any network. It is the most-watched game this season, and is also the largest audience for a regular-season game on an ESPN platform since 2012.

“It was great for college football, I think, two brand name teams, national brand-name teams, two top five teams going toe to toe for the entire game, and it was a great contest,” Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher said. “It was great for college football.  It was great for the ACC and great for us to be able to come out victorious.”

Four of the top six highest rated games on ESPN networks this year have featured at least one ACC team, and viewing audiences have been engaged and interactive. According to ESPN, the top two games that generated the most social content on Twitter this season were  games involving ACC teams – last weekend’s Notre Dame at Florida State game and Clemson at Florida State on Sept. 20.

“I was blessed to be able to coach in a game like that,” Fisher added as he looked back on last weekend.  “I'm very fortunate.  That's why I love being at Florida State.”
