Jeff Fischel's ACC Power Poll: Week of January 19, 2015
The ACC Power Poll is compiled each week by ACC Digital Network host Jeff Fischel. Give Jeff your feedback via Twitter (@JeffFischel)!

VIRGINIA (5-0 ACC | 17-0 OVERALL)
JEFF'S TAKE: In the Player of the Year debate, I got votes from fans for Malcolm Brogdon and Justin Anderson. According kenpom.com's National Player of the Year formula… Brogdon, Anderson, Mike Tobey & Anthony Gill are all in the top 10. The Cavs are so efficient, they've broken Ken Pomeroy's computer.

NOTRE DAME (5-1 ACC | 17-2 OVERALL)
JEFF'S TAKE: The Irish's 1-4 options offensively might even be better than the Cavs': Grant, Jackson, Connaughton & Auguste. Yep, Auguste is baaaaack and, hopefully, here to stay for the season.

DUKE (3-2 ACC | 15-2 OVERALL)
JEFF'S TAKE: Coach K went zone?! The world's gone mad. But, see, it won't surprise anyone anymore. And Notre Dame and UVA could very well pick it apart next week. I'm not sure what the right move is. But that's why Coach K has 998 more wins than I do.

NORTH CAROLINA (4-1 ACC | 14-4 OVERALL)
JEFF'S TAKE: A month ago called "disappointing". Now, 4-1 in the ACC with only a 1-point loss to Notre Dame. That's good, right? No. Roy didn't like the performance vs VT. How do you sum it all up? I don't know.

LOUISVILLE (3-2 ACC | 15-3 OVERALL)
JEFF'S TAKE: Montrezl Harrell's numbers are starting to hurt because teams don't have to worry about any production from whomever is at the 5 spot. A UofL fan wisely says Rozier should be in the POY conversation, too.

NC STATE (4-2 ACC | 13-6 OVERALL)
JEFF'S TAKE: They haven't won (or lost) 2 games in a row in more than a month. But overall, the team is looking very solid. And Trevor Lacey has been so good, I even heard from a Pack fan who wanted him on the midseason Wooden Award watchlist.

MIAMI (2-2 ACC | 12-5 OVERALL)
JEFF'S TAKE: My producer, @davidtibbitt, has a hard time forgiving that 28-point loss to Eastern Kentucky. But the rest of the profile is very strong. Is Rodriguez-McClellan-Lecomte the best 3-man backcourt in the ACC? Discuss.
Last: 9 1
CLEMSON (2-3 ACC | 10-7 OVERALL)
JEFF'S TAKE: I frequently make the argument that November results are usually meaningless to me. It's just not the same team in March. Clemson could miss out on the Big Dance because of 2 bad losses the first week of the season.

SYRACUSE (4-1 ACC | 13-5 OVERALL)
JEFF'S TAKE: Who's the only ACC player in the top 5 in the conference in scoring, rebounding, FG% and blocked shots? I reveal the answer when you watch the Power Poll. Shouldn't that player be a frontrunner for ACC POY? Here's 1 vote.
Last: 10 ---
PITT (3-2 ACC | 13-5 OVERALL)
JEFF'S TAKE: Cam Wright could be the key to this team's NCAA hopes. The Panthers need a true offensive leader. In the last 3 games, Wright's offensive rating is ~125. Excellent.
Last: 11 ---
WAKE FOREST (1-4 ACC | 9-9 OVERALL)
JEFF'S TAKE: You want progress from Danny Manning? Last year, Wake was 281st in D1 at preventing offensive rebounds. This year, the Deacs are 3rd in D1.
Last: 12 ---
GEORGIA TECH (0-5 ACC | 9-8 OVERALL)
JEFF'S TAKE: I'm guessing Tech fans are getting antsy after an 0-5 ACC start. But those 5 losses are by a total of 23 points. The Jackets are so close.
Last: 14 1
BOSTON COLLEGE (0-4 ACC | 8-8 OVERALL)
JEFF'S TAKE: Since we're talking individual accolades this week, how about Olivier Hanlan? He has seamlessly switched from SG to PG--top 6 in scoring and assists in the ACC.
Last: 13 1
FLORIDA STATE (1-4 ACC | 9-9 OVERALL)
JEFF'S TAKE: Aaron Thomas was supposed to be the Seminole in the POY discussion. Whether it's because he's out for the year or not, this team is struggling. 1 consistent issue: turning it over too much on offense, and not forcing enough TOs on defense.
Last: 15 ---
VIRGINIA TECH (0-4 ACC | 8-9 OVERALL)
JEFF'S TAKE: No, this team isn't talented enough to win much this year. But Buzz is getting max effort and appreciates it.
