CLEMSON (1-0)

JEFF'S TAKE: How am I really supposed to tell the difference between a Clemson win over Wofford, an FSU win over Texas St. and a Georgia Tech win over Alcorn St.? I can't. So, I'm sticking with my preseason rankings right now. Hopefully we see Mike Williams return to Death Valley soon.

FLORIDA STATE (1-0)

JEFF'S TAKE: #FSUTwitter doesn't like seeing the Noles at no. 2 behind Clemson. But I still wonder about the offensive line and wide receivers. I also wonder what will happen on the day FSU misplaces Jalen Ramsey's Charlie Ward jersey.

GEORGIA TECH (1-0)

JEFF'S TAKE: It was impressive--69 points--but it was FCS opponent Alcorn St. Tulane is next, and likely won't put up much more of a fight. I can't wait to see Georgia Tech-Notre Dame next week.

LOUISVILLE (0-1)

JEFF'S TAKE: With 3 guys returning who started last year, I didn't really think Petrino was serious when he included Lamar Jackson on the week 1 depth chart. I was wrong. Even in a loss, Jackson was phenomenal.

MIAMI (1-0)

JEFF'S TAKE: Overall, the Canes were fine in their 45-0 win over Bethune-Cookman, including scoring 21 points in 2 minutes. But I want to see better than 3 of 11 on 3rd downs against an FCS school--especially since this was an issue last year as well.

NC STATE (1-0)

JEFF'S TAKE: What was the biggest hit of the weekend? Dra Wright did this without remorse. In Raleigh, they're going Pack in Black this week for the game versus Eastern Kentucky.

VIRGINIA TECH (0-1)

JEFF'S TAKE: It was at this moment that I really started believing Virginia Tech could beat Ohio State. Then Braxton Miller did this and Michael Brewer got hurt, and that's all she wrote. Hopefully, Brenden Motley steps up.

DUKE (1-0)

JEFF'S TAKE: The Blue Devils are my Big Mover this week. Their 2015 debut makes me believe they'll be what they've been in 2012, 2013 and 2014. Thomas Sirk avoided mistakes and looked like he'll be fine.

PITT (1-0)

JEFF'S TAKE: The week started off fine with Pat Narduzzi sharing the kiwi prank he pulled on Scott Shafer. No one's joking around now after James Conner was lost for the season. Fortunately, Qadree Ollison stepped up against Youngstown.

NORTH CAROLINA (0-1)

JEFF'S TAKE: This one stings. UNC should've beaten South Carolina. The defense did its job. There were far too many missed opportunities for an offense that has virtually everyone back.

WAKE FOREST (1-0)

JEFF'S TAKE: The Demon Deacons move up 2 spots because I want to be on the bandwagon early. John Wolford looked incredibly comfortable in the win over Elon. Explosive too. Now, we need to see of the offensive line can give him time against an ACC team--Syracuse hosts the Deacs Saturday.

VIRGINIA (0-1)

JEFF'S TAKE: First, the Cavs have to deal with UCLA and freshman phenom Josh Rosen. Next.. Malik Zaire and Notre Dame? That's tough.

BOSTON COLLEGE (1-0)

JEFF'S TAKE: BC got the season started with a win, and with Howard up next, should be 2-0. But I still won't know enough about the team to say whether I'm confident that they can get to 6 wins and a bowl game.

SYRACUSE (1-0)

JEFF'S TAKE: Let's not focus on losing Terrel Hunt for the season because that's too depressing. Ummmmmm... hey, this was a sweet punt return for a TD! Maybe, just maybe, Eric Dungey is ready for his close up.
