CLEMSON (7-0 ACC | 10-0 OVERALL)

JEFF'S TAKE: Deshaun Watson had a career day with 461 total yards, but the defense slept through the trip to New York. Not acceptable. I expect Brent Venables to get their attention this week. He called out his unit for being too "casual" preparing for Syracuse.

NORTH CAROLINA (6-0 ACC | 9-1 OVERALL)

JEFF'S TAKE: With 59 vs Miami, the Tar Heels have now scored 125 points the past 2 weeks. And we're not talking September games against FCS teams. Based on how he's playing right now, Marquise Williams should finish in the top 3 in ACC Player of the Year voting.

FLORIDA STATE (6-2 ACC | 8-2 OVERALL)

JEFF'S TAKE: In my opinion--which is what matters on this page!!--there are 5 great running backs in college football: Cook, Fournette, Henry, McCaffrey & Elliott. How would you rank them? I change my mind week to week. I know this: Cook is now #1 in the FSU record books after passing Warrick Dunn... and Dunn is happy for him.

PITT (5-1 ACC | 7-3 OVERALL)

JEFF'S TAKE: I was dropping some serious knowledge Saturday after Pitt's win over Duke. And it was impressive: 31 points vs a solid Duke defense without getting a ton of production from Tyler Boyd. Pitt needs a lot of help to get to the ACC title game, but it's not out of the question. The Panthers need to win home games vs Louisville and Miami, and UNC needs to lose road games to Virginia Tech and NC State.

LOUISVILLE (5-2 ACC | 6-4 OVERALL)

JEFF'S TAKE: Kyle Bolin's performance against Virginia was pedestrian, we barely saw Lamar Jackson, and Reggie Bonnafon's 1 pass attempt came as a running back. Louisville's QB situation should be its own reality show.

VIRGINIA TECH (3-3 ACC | 5-5 OVERALL)

JEFF'S TAKE: 8 ACC teams have already clinched bowl eligibility. 5 others already have 7 losses. In the middle, there is Virginia Tech.. which must win 1 game to get to 6 wins. It's a bit disappointing that Game Day isn't coming to Blacksburg this Saturday, but I'm still hoping Metallica shows up.

DUKE (3-3 ACC | 6-4 OVERALL)

JEFF'S TAKE: With Duke's losses to UNC and Pitt, the Miami fiasco is now irrelevant to the Coastal picture. Thank goodness. 8-4 still looks doable.

NC STATE (2-4 ACC | 6-4 OVERALL)

JEFF'S TAKE: The Pack moves up a spot despite a loss because... well, Miami. I kid. I kid. State battled FSU even for a half. That's worth the bump to #8. I'm guessing they finish 7-5 and stay right here.

MIAMI (3-3 ACC | 6-4 OVERALL)

JEFF'S TAKE: The Canes drop precipitously because they suffered their second buttkicking in a month. The next coach will have to find a way to motivate and keep this team both mentally and physically disciplined.

VIRGINIA (2-4 ACC | 3-7 OVERALL)

JEFF'S TAKE: A controversial penalty cost UVA its shot to tie Louisville, and left Mike London fuming after the game.

WAKE FOREST (1-5 ACC | 3-7 OVERALL)

JEFF'S TAKE: So did you notice Wake Forest outgained Notre Dame by a significant amount? And even though you can't take away a 98-yard TD run, imagine how lopsided the numbers would be if you did. If you can get past the final score, you'll realize Wake played the Irish pretty tough. Wait.. Notre Dame and Clemson on back-to-back weeks?! Ouch.

GEORGIA TECH (1-6 ACC | 3-7 OVERALL)

JEFF'S TAKE: With the loss to Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech falls to 3-7, and its long bowl streak will come to an end.

SYRACUSE (1-5 ACC | 3-7 OVERALL)

JEFF'S TAKE: You're playing #1 Clemson without Eric Dungey. That's not a good recipe for success. But walk-on backup QB Zach Mahoney drove the Tigers crazy with his option reads. This could be a team to keep an eye on next year.. and that includes the depth chart at QB.

BOSTON COLLEGE (0-7 ACC | 3-7 OVERALL)

JEFF'S TAKE: Check out the transformation at Fenway Park. This will really be a special experience against Notre Dame. I just hope the Eagles can do something offensively that might create some drama and uncertainty.
