CLEMSON (6-0 ACC | 9-0 OVERALL)

JEFF'S TAKE: Like lemmings, AP voters followed the CFP rankings. But the bottom line: the AP now has it right and the Tigers are #1. Dabo says it's not pressure being #1. After all, he's had his team #1 in the coaches poll for weeks.

NORTH CAROLINA (5-0 ACC | 8-1 OVERALL)

JEFF'S TAKE: Not every UNC-Duke headline went well, but this one from SB Nation is outstanding. I'd rather recognize the good than the bad. Marquise was ridiculous Saturday. I'm dreaming of 12-0 Clemson vs 11-1 UNC in Charlotte. Keep the dream alive, Tar Heels. You can do this.

FLORIDA STATE (5-2 ACC | 7-2 OVERALL)

JEFF'S TAKE: I considered keeping the Noles at 2--the defense and Dalvin Cook proved against Clemson that they're good enough to talk about ACC and national titles. But the rest of the offense is problematic and won't get solved this year.

LOUISVILLE (4-2 ACC | 5-4 OVERALL)

JEFF'S TAKE: Despite a September to forget, the Cards are back to #4 where I expected them to end up. Petrino must assume the offensive line will improve next year, which leads to a tough decision: Lamar Jackson and the spread or Kyle Bolin and Petrino's bread-and-butter pro-style power offense? Bolin looked great Saturday.

MIAMI (3-2 ACC | 6-3 OVERALL)

JEFF'S TAKE: So unlike last week, this end-of-game kickoff vs UVA didn't have much in the way of Miami fireworks. Brad Kaaya says the Canes are "relentless" right now. Yes, the []_[] is now ahead of Duke in my rankings. With Kaaya healthy and Duke's defense in need of some repairs, I think Miami is better.

PITT (4-1 ACC | 6-3 OVERALL)

JEFF'S TAKE: How come everybody want to keep it like the kaiser? Because DeShone Kizer toyed with Pitt on Saturday. Move on, Panthers. You still have a shot at the Coastal.

DUKE (3-2 ACC | 6-3 OVERALL)

JEFF'S TAKE: Originally, I was going to keep Duke in front of Miami to make a point. But, the Blue Devils were so thoroughly dominated that I have to drop them down to 7. There's still a path to Charlotte, but it's not a straight line from Durham to Charlotte anymore.

VIRGINIA TECH (2-3 ACC | 4-5 OVERALL)

JEFF'S TAKE: I love what the Hokies' Twitter account, @VT_Football, is trying to do right now to bring ESPN's GameDay to Blacksburg for Frank Beamer's final home game. #GameDay4Frank. Just do it! And Metallica, too, please!

NC STATE (2-3 ACC | 6-3 OVERALL)

JEFF'S TAKE: The Pack took care of business up in Boston...for the first time in more than 75 years! But I can't move you up yet because of that convincing head-to-head loss to Virginia Tech. Head-to-head isn't always a single determining factor, though. So, I'll reassess next week.

VIRGINIA (2-3 ACC | 3-6 OVERALL)

JEFF'S TAKE: Virginia comes up just short to Miami. That's 3 losses this season by a TD or less. At 3-6, the Cavaliers need to win out--beat Louisville, Duke and Virginia Tech--to make a bowl game.

GEORGIA TECH (1-5 ACC | 3-6 OVERALL)

JEFF'S TAKE: I'm excited to go to Thursday night's game in Atlanta as a civilian. No work. I'm just going to sit in the crowd and enjoy a night of college football between the Techs. Midtown Atlanta was home to me for 5 years. I always love coming back.

WAKE FOREST (1-5 ACC | 3-6 OVERALL)

JEFF'S TAKE: Wake moves up in front of Syracuse. Sure, the Orange beat the Deacs. But that was a long time ago now, and Wake Forest gave Louisville a much tougher fight than Syracuse did.

SYRACUSE (1-4 ACC | 3-6 OVERALL)

JEFF'S TAKE: For freshman QB Eric Dungey, the phenomenal highlights still outnumber the crucial mistakes. But part of his development is also learning when to play for the next play. He is taking some huge hits this year.

BOSTON COLLEGE (0-7 ACC | 3-7 OVERALL)

JEFF'S TAKE: There's no team in the country that is more extreme in its efficiency (or lack thereof) than BC. A top 5 in the FBS defense. A bottom 5 in the FBS offense.
