Track and Field

  • Clemson's George Kitchens Jr. (USA) jumped 6.84m in the qualifying round of the men's long jump, getting 19th place in Group B. He did not advance to the finals.
  • Clemson's Patricia Mamona (Portugal) jumped 14.11m in the qualifying round of women's triple jump, getting sixth place in Group B. She did not advance to the finals.
  • Clemson's Marlena Wesh (Haiti) ran a time of 51.98 in the qualifying round of women's 400m, getting third place in Heat 7. She will run in the semifinals on Saturday, August 4.
  • Florida State's Ciaran O'Lionaird (Ireland) ran a time of 3:48.35 in the qualifying round of the men's 1500m, a season best, getting 13th place in Heat 3. He did not advance to the semifinals.
  • Florida State's Dorian Scott (Jamaica) put the shot 20.31 in the qualifying round of the men's shot put, getting sixth place in Group A. He put the shot 20.61m in the final, getting tenth place.
  • Florida State's Kimberly Williams (Jamaica) jumped 14.53m, a personal best, in the qualifying round of women's triple jump, getting first place in Group A. She will jump in the finals on Sunday, August 5.
  • Georgia Tech's Angelo Taylor (USA) ran a time of 49.29 in the qualifying round of the men's 400m hurdles, getting first place in Heat 5. He will run in the semifinals on Saturday, August 4.
  • Miami's Murielle Ahoure (Ivory Coast) ran a time of 10.99 in the qualifying round of the women's 100m, getting first place in Heat 7. She will run in the semifinals on Saturday, August 4.
  • Virginia Tech's Marcel Lomnicky (Slovakia) threw the hammer 74.00m in the qualifying round of the men's hammer throw, getting fifth place in Group B. He did not advance for the finals.
  • Wake Forest's Brent LaRue (Slovenia) ran a time of 49.38 in the qualifying round of the men's 400m hurdles, getting fourth place in Heat 3. He will run in the semifinals on Saturday, August 4.

Rowing

  • Virginia's Inge Janssen (Netherlands) rowed a time of 7:29.57 in the finals of the women's double sculls, getting second place in Final B.

Sailing

  • Miami's Zach Railey sailed a time of 1:09:62 in Race 9 of the Men's Finn, getting 12th place and 1:05:94 in Race 10, getting 19th place. He did not advance to the finals.

Swimming

  • Florida State's Gideon Louw (South Africa) swam a time of 48.48 on his leg of the final of the men's 4x100m freestyle relay, getting fifth place.
  • NC State's Cullen Jones (USA) swam a time of 21.54 in the finals of the men's 50m freestyle, getting a silver medal.

Women's Soccer

  • Boston College's Laura Georges (France) started and played 90 minutes and had one goal in France's 2-1 victory over Sweden. The team will next face Japan on Monday, August 6.
  • Duke's Rebecca Smith (New Zealand) started and played 90 minutes in New Zealand's 2-0 loss to the United States.
  • North Carolina's Robyn Gayle (Canada) did not play due to injury in Canada's 2-0 victory over Great Britain. The team will next face the United States on Monday, August 6.
  • North Carolina's Tobin Heath (USA) started and played 90 minutes and had 1 shot and 1 assist in the USA's 2-0 victory over New Zealand.
  • North Carolina's Heather O'Reilly (USA) played 19 minutes in the USA's 2-0 victory over New Zealand.
  • Virginia's Becky Sauerbrunn (USA) did not play in the USA's 2-0 victory over New Zealand.

Volleyball

  • Miami's Savannah Leaf (Great Britain) had 5 spikes and scored 5 points in Great Britain's 3-0 loss to Dominican Republic. The team will next face Poland on Saturday, August 4.
