On ACC ALL ACCESS This Week: Starting On Thursday, May 6

May 5, 2010

  • Thursday, May 6 at 6 p.m. ET on FOX Sports Carolinas
  • Friday, May 7 at 9 a.m. ET on SportSouth

This week ACC All Access goes behind-the-scenes with the Georgia Tech softball team. Head coach Sharon Perkins takes viewers through a typical workout with the Yellow Jackets, who are ranked seventh in the nation and won the ACC regular-season title five games ahead of second place Virginia. Georgia Tech’s next game will be in the quarterfinal round of the ACC Softball Tournament on Friday, May 14 in Blacksburg, Virginia.

NC State’s Russell Wilson is not only the starting quarterback for the Wolfpack in the fall; he is also a right-handed pitcher and infielder on the N.C. State baseball team. ACC All Access profiles Wilson and discovers that he has three gloves he uses on the diamond - one to play the outfield, one for the infield and one when he pitches.

In this week’s Hog Blog, ACC All Access’ Mike Hogewood takes a closer look at University of Virginia pitcher Danny Hultzen, who is becoming almost unhittable on the mound. Against ACC competition, Hultzen has five wins, no defeats, 69 strikeouts, and opponents are batting below .200.
