Four From ACC Named Preseason All-America

Duke’s Okafor named preseason National Player of the Year

GREENSBORO, N.C. ( – Four Atlantic Coast Conference student-athletes were named to the 2014-15 CBSSports.Com Basketball Preseason All-America team, including three first-team selections and the National Player of the Year in Duke’s Jahlil Okafor.

North Carolina junior guard Marcus Paige and Louisville junior forward Montrezl Harrell joined Okafor on the first team announced on Wednesday. Duke freshman point guard Tyus Jones received third-team mention.

UNC’s Paige averaged 17.5 points while shooting 38.9 percent from 3-point range and leading the Tar Heels to a 13-5 ACC record last season. Louisville’s Harrell averaged 14.0 points and 8.4 rebounds while keying the Cardinals to a 31-win season in 2014-15. Okafor and Jones are expected to make an immediate impact for the Blue Devils. Okafor was the MVP of the McDonald's All-American Game, and Jones led all players in assists in that game, as well as the Jordan Brand Classic.
