Florida State, Georgia Tech lead ACC squads
GREENSBORO, N.C.– Five ACC men’s golf teams are ranked in the Golf Coaches Association of America preseason poll, announced this week.
The league contingent is led by Florida State at No. 4 and No. 13 Georgia Tech. The Seminoles and Yellow Jackets finished 11th and 9th, respectively, at the NCAA Championship last year.
Wake Forest enters the season ranked No. 20, followed by No. 22 North Carolina and No. 24 Virginia. Clemson, Duke, and NC State also received votes.
Last year, 10 ACC teams earned bids to NCAA regionals, the most from any conference in the country and the most in league history. Five ACC teams advanced to the NCAA Championship, the most from the league since 2010.
The 2015-16 season gets underway the weekend of Sept. 11-13. The league’s championship will be held April 22-24 at the Old North State Club in New London, North Carolina.
