Duke currently 2nd, Wake Forest 14th at NCAA Women’s Golf Championship
Duke remains in second place and Wake Forest 14th at the 2015 NCAA Women’s Golf Championship Sunday even though play was suspended for the third straight afternoon at the 6,468-yard, par 72 Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, Fla.
Duke with a 31-over-par total trails first place Southern California by three strokes. Both teams have five or fewer holes to finish Monday, which will began at 7:30 a.m. Sunday’s play was suspended at 8:21 p.m., due to darkness.
Southern California (+28), Duke (+31) and Arizona (+41) are the top three teams. Wake Forest (+60) is one stroke behind 13th-place South Carolina and one stroke ahead of No. 15 Alabama.
The third round will be resumed at 7:30 a.m. on Monday.
Playoffs, if necessary to determine the top 15 teams and nine individuals not on an advancing team, will take place immediately after confirmation of scores.
Round four of the championship, the final round of stroke play, will begin at 10:50 a.m. The 72-hole individual stroke play champion will be determined. Following the fourth round, the top eight teams then compete in match play for the championship.
