ACC Women’s Lacrosse: Players of the Week Announced

North Carolina’s Stanwick and Mannelly sweep honors

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Boston College’s Covie Stanwick was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week, while teammate Sarah Mannelly earned ACC Defensive Player of the Week honors following a dominating win over No. 16 Notre Dame.

Stanwick led the Eagles’ offensive onslaught against Notre Dame in BC’s home opener on March 7. The Baltimore, Maryland, native recorded a career-high seven goals and added one assist in BC’s dominating 15-6 victory over the Irish. Stanwick’s seven-goal, eight-point performance stands as a season high for the Eagles thus far and are also ACC individual single-game highs this season. The senior attacker leads the league with 27 points on 19 goals and eight assists through six games.

Mannelly helped the Eagles’ hold the Fighting Irish to six goals and forced them into 16 turnovers for the game in the 15-6 victory. Along with her four points on two goals and two assists, Mannelly also notched a game-high two caused turnovers and won three draw controls.
