Boston College’s Margolis and Chandler recognized
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Boston College’s Caroline Margolis has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week, while teammate Tess Chandler earned ACC Defensive Player of the Week honors.
Margolis shined for the Eagles in Saturday afternoon’s 10-9 upset of No. 3/2 Syracuse at the Carrier Dome. She set a new career high, scoring four goals to lead Boston College to victory. The junior midfielder’s fourth goal with just over a minute to play in the contest proved the eventual gamewinner to give the Eagles their first win over the Orange in program history. A native of Raleigh, North Carolina, Margolis now leads Boston College with 11 goals through the first four games of the season.
A sophomore midfielder from Hopkinton, Massachusetts, Chandler held Syracuse attacker Kayla Treanor to zero goals and zero shots, taking the Orange’s top offensive threat out of the game. Before facing the Eagles, Treanor amassed 25 points on 21 goals and four assists through the first four games of the season. Chandler also led Boston College with three ground balls.
