League Wins Conference Challenge at Third Annual DICK’S Sporting Goods Collegiate Challenge Cup

Kingston Springs, Tenn. – The ACC defeated the SEC, 15.5-14.5, in match play competition on Sunday as part of the annual DICK'S Sporting Goods Collegiate Challenge Cup.

The victory marks the second straight year that the ACC has won the head-to-head event.

Representing the league were Clemson, Duke, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Louisville, and Virginia. Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Vanderbilt competed from the SEC.

In the stroke play portion, Virginia finished tied for first with Vanderbilt before falling in a playoff.

About the DICK’S Sporting Goods Collegiate Challenge Cup:
The DICK’S Sporting Goods Collegiate Challenge Cup is a multi-day collegiate event that brings twelve teams from the ACC and SEC to The Golf Club of Tennessee for a 54-hole team and individual stroke play event, followed by an 18-hole match play conference finale, pitting the teams in each conference against each other to play for “Top Conference” honors.
