ACC Welcomes Local Teachers of the Year to New York Life ACC Tournament

Washington D.C. 2016 Teacher of the Year finalists invited to championship game.

GREENSBORO, NC – The Atlantic Coast Conference continued an initiative to recognize local Teachers of the Year by inviting them to ACC Championship events. The Washington D.C. 2016 Teacher of the Year finalists and their guests were invited to attend the championship game of the New York Life ACC Tournament.

“The value of an outstanding teacher is immeasurable,” ACC Commissioner John Swofford said. “The ACC is proud to welcome this impressive group to the tournament and thankful to have them in our community.”

Katie Bunger of Oyster-Adams Bilingual School, Topher Kandik of The SEED School of Washington, D.C., and Aris Pangilinan of Francis L. Cardozo Education Campus were this year’s finalists for the Washington D.C. Teacher of the Year award.


2016 New York Life ACC Tournament: The 2016 New York Life ACC Tournament will be played March 8-12 in the Verizon Center in Washington D.C.  The tournament will begin on Tuesday and will conclude with a primetime championship game on Saturday.
