Duke and Louisville both go undefeated over the weekend
GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Duke middle blocker Jordan Tucker and Louisville outside hitter Aniah Philo were named this week’s Atlantic Coast Conference Volleyball award winners.
Tucker earned Player of the Week honors, while Philo was named Freshman of the Week
Tucker led the Blue Devils to two weekend wins over Pitt and Virginia Tech. The junior totaled 35 kills over nine sets, averaging 3.89 kills per set and hitting .471. She led a comeback against Pitt, posting a match-high 21 kills in Duke’s 3-2 win over the Panthers. Tucker also contributed a combined 13 blocks and nine digs in the matches.
Philo earned her third consecutive Freshman of the Week honor after leading Louisville to 3-0 wins over Notre Dame and Virginia. She collected her fourth double-double of the season against Notre Dame with 13 kills and 12 digs, while also contributing eight kills, nine digs and six blocks against the Cavaliers. Philo finished the weekend with a .319 hitting percentage and averaging 3.5 kills per set.
