Miami and Duke sweep final weekend of ACC play
GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Miami outside hitters Olga Strantzali and Anna Haak and Duke middle blocker Leah Meyer were named this week’s Atlantic Coast Conference Volleyball Performers of the Week.
Strantzali was named Player of the Week, while Haak and Meyer earned Co-Freshmen of the Week honors.
Strantzali led Miami to wins over Clemson and Georgia Tech in the final weekend of play, posting 25 kills while hitting .525. The sophomore also recorded 12 digs and two service aces while helping the Hurricanes secure their second-straight 20-win season.
Haak finished the weekend with 25 kills and 13 digs in Miami’s two victories. The freshman recorded nine kills and nine digs against Clemson, before hitting .414 against Georgia Tech with 16 kills. She averaged 3.57 kills per set and 1.86 digs per set in the two matches.
Meyer earned her second-consecutive Freshman of the Week honor by helping Duke wrap up the season with wins over NC State and No. 22 North Carolina. The freshman recorded nine kills and five blocks against NC State and seven kills and four blocks in the upset over the Tar Heels.
