Logo design to stay consistent for the next five years

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Atlantic Coast Conference unveiled the 2016 Women’s Basketball Tournament logo today.

The logo was developed and designed by ACC graphic designer Martha Schwab. The logo design incorporates the façade of the Greensboro Coliseum as well as the city Greensboro, as both are home to the ACC Women's Basketball Tournament through 2022.

Along with a new logo, a new court design will also be showcased at the 2016 ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament. Details on the new court design will be available at a later date.

“The new ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament logo befits the new basketball court that it will adorn,” said senior associate commissioner Nora Lynn Finch. “When our teams and fans return to the Greensboro Coliseum for this season’s Championship, they will see a new court designed exclusively for the ACC Women’s Tournament with the Championship’s logo prominently displayed mid-court.  It will proudly claim the Greensboro Coliseum as home.”

The color scheme includes the ACC’s primary colors (Blue 293 and Silver C) as well as pink (213) and green (3275). Those four colors will remain the same throughout the next five years, however, each year the dominant color will rotated within all of the tournament collateral.
Also included in the graphics package is a logo without the year but includes the word “Coliseum” where the date would be placed. It unites the tournament with the Greensboro Coliseum, the perennial home of the ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament since 2000.
The 39th annual ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament is set for March 2-6, 2016, and marks the 17th consecutive year the event will be held at the Greensboro Coliseum. Game times and television designations for the tournament will be released with the complete 2015-16 ACC women’s basketball schedule in the coming weeks.
