ACC to Host Triangle Youth Classic in conjunction with ACC Baseball Championship

Youth baseball teams will be recognized on-field during Saturday’s ACC games.

DURHAM, N.C. – The Atlantic Coast Conference, in partnership with the Triangle Sports Commission, N.C. Development Baseball and the Durham Bulls, will host the Triangle Youth Classic at the ACC Baseball Championship (TYC at ACCBC). The youth baseball tournament for 12U, 11U, and 10U travel baseball teams will be held in conjunction with the ACC Baseball Championship.

TYC at ACCBC will take place beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday, May 28 and Sunday, May 29 at Walnut Creek Sports Complex. Participating teams will be recognized on-field at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park during Saturday’s ACC Baseball Championship games and have an opportunity to take a team photo with the ACC trophy.

TYC at ACCBC will also host the local qualifying event for the 12U division of the MLB’s Jr. Home Run Derby at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 27 at the Walnut Creek Complex. The winner will be eligible to compete in the regional HRD competition on June 19th in Philadelphia. The winner of the regional competition will advance to the finals at MLB's All-Star Game activities in San Diego in July.


2016 ACC Baseball Championship: The 2016 ACC Baseball Championship will be played May 24-29 at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park in Durham, North Carolina.
