Miami, Virginia earn last weekly honors of the season
GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Miami’s Sinead Lohan has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week, whereas Virginia’s Thai-Son Kwiatkowski was selected as the Men’s Tennis Player of the Week.
Lohan was integral in the Hurricanes’ victory over conference foe, No. 46 Clemson, over the weekend clinching the singles point with a straight-set victory over No. 83 Ayan Broomfield. Against Pitt, the junior posted a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Audrey Ann Blakely at No. 2 singles and a 6-1 victory at No. 3 doubles, to lift Miami to its first 7-0 victory of the season.
Kwiatkowski led the Cavaliers to a 2-0 weekend with wins over No. 18 Georgia Tech and Boston College. The senior defeated No. 5 Christopher Eubanks in a singles battle, 7-6 (6), 7-6 (6) winning both sets in tiebreakers. He also won the deciding doubles match to clinch the doubles point for Virginia. The North Carolina native collected a doubles win against the Eagles to improve to 15-1 in doubles matches this season.
