ACC’s 74 On NBA Rosters Leads All Conferences

Eighteen former Duke players, 16 from UNC among pro ranks 

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – The Atlantic Coast Conference led all leagues with 74 former players listed on NBA team as the league opened the 2015-16 season.

Duke led with 18 alumni on NBA opening night rosters, followed by North Carolina with 16, Syracuse with seven, and Georgia Tech and Wake Forest with six each. Thirteen of the ACC’s 15 schools have multiple former players currently with NBA teams. Twenty-nine of the NBA’s 30 teams include at least one ACC alumnus.

The Pac-12 ranks second behind the ACC with 62 NBA alumni, followed by the SEC (56), Big Ten (36) and Big 12 (34).
