14 ACC Rowers Named to the 2015 CRCA All-Region Team

ACC Has 10 of 12 First-Team Honorees

Greensboro, N.C. — The Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association named 14 Atlantic Coast Conference rowers to its 2015 All-Region Three Rowing team, including 10 of the 12 first-team All-Region honorees.

Virginia, which finished fifth nationally at the NCAA Championships, led the way with four All-Region honorees, including three first-team selections and one second-team honoree. Notre Dame, which finished 16th nationally, had three rowers selected, followed by Clemson (2), Syracuse (2), Louisville (1) and Boston College (1).

Seven ACC rowers were repeat sections to the All-Region Three team with Virginia’s Lizzy Youngling the only rower to be named to the first-team in each year. Hemingway Benton of Virginia, Ellen Burr of Boston College, Joanna Mulvey and Ailish Sheehan of Notre Dame were all second-team honorees in 2014 who earned first-team honors this year. Georgia Hamilton of Syracuse and Milena Heuer of Clemson were first-team honorees in 2014 who earned second-team honors this year.
