ACC Men’s Lacrosse: Players of the Week Named

Duke’s Jones and Rowe honored

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Duke’s Myles Jones has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week, while teammate Kyle Rowe is this week’s Defensive Player of the Week.

Senior midfielder Jones led all Blue Devils with six goals and six assists for 12 points in a 1‐1 week. He had a team-high four points from a goal and three assists in a Monday night setback to Richmond. Five days later, the standout midfielder matched his career‐high five goals and eight points to guide Duke past No. 9 Loyola 15‐6. With the eight points, he took over the top spot among active players in career points with 192, passing Syracuse’s Dylan Donahue and Notre Dame’s Matt Kavanaugh.

Duke faceoff specialist Rowe picked up right where he left off after missing three games to injury. In his first game back against Richmond, Rowe won 67 percent of his draws and picked up 12 ground balls. Five days later, he was even more dominant in winning a season‐best 19‐of‐23 restarts versus No. 9 Loyola and picking up a season‐high 15 ground balls. For the week, he won 79 percent of his draws and tallied 27 ground balls. He has won at least 10 faceoffs in all five of his outings and 15‐plus in three of those.
