ACC Men’s Lacrosse: Perkovic and Molloy Earn ACC Weekly Honors

Syracuse tops No. 14 Johns Hopkins; Notre Dame edges ACC foe Virginia

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Notre Dame senior midfielder Sergio Perkovic has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week, while Syracuse senior goalie Evan Molloy is this week’s Defensive Player of the Week.

Perkovic scored three goals, including the game-tying goal with 4:47 left in regulation, in Notre Dame’s 11-10 overtime win at No. 12 Virginia. Perkovic was efficient, scoring three times off just five shots. His strikes were impressive, as all came from long-range efforts. Perkovic now has 95 goals in his Irish career, the most in program history from a midfielder.

Molloy stopped seven Johns Hopkins shots, caused a turnover, collected three ground balls and recorded an assist in Syracuse’s 8-7 win over the Blue Jays on Saturday. He stopped all-five shots he faced in the second quarter to prevent JHU from taking a lead into the locker room. The Manhasset, New York, native came up big on a pair of late fourth quarter saves, allowing Syracuse to score with under a minute to play to tie the game.
