Albertson, Sciot-Siegrist, and Cone recognized
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Georgia Tech’s Anders Albertson, Louisville’s Robin Sciot-Siegrist, and Virginia Tech’s Trevor Cone have been named the ACC Men’s Co-Golfers of the Month for April.
The trio shared individual medalist honors at last weekend’s ACC Championship, shooting 11-under par to split the title.
Albertson became only the fifth golfer in league history to win ACC medalist honors twice and led the Yellow Jackets to the team title in a playoff victory over Clemson. A senior from Woodstock, Georgia, Albertson was Georgia Tech’s highest finisher in all three events during April, including tying for first at the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate, as the Jackets won two events and tied for second in the other. Additionally, he was named the recipient of the Bryon Nelson Award and was selected to the United States Palmer Cup team.
Sciot-Siegrist fired a field-best 5-under par 67 on Sunday to share the title with Albertson and Cone. A junior from Rueil-Malmaison, France, Sciot-Siegrist posted three top-five finishes during April and is currently ranked No. 37 in the country after his co-championship at the Old North State Club, his first medalist honors since he tied for the title at the Boilermaker Invitational in 2012-13.
The co-championship for Cone was the Hokies’ first-ever ACC men’s golf individual championship. A senior from Concord, North Carolina, Cone was the leader entering the final round and shot 1-under 71 to finish at the top of the leaderboard. During the month of April, Cone had eight of nine rounds at par or better and posted three finishes in the top 10.
