GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Syracuse swept the final Atlantic Coast Conference Cross Country Performer of the Week honors, as Kevyn Hoyos and Angelica Peck were recognized following their strong finishes in last weekend’s John Reif Memorial at Cornell.
Hoyos was recognized as ACC Men’s Performer of the Week after he set a new Moakley Course Record. The Carrollton, Texas, sophomore placed first by a full eight seconds, completing the five-mile course in 24:48.50.
Peck earned ACC Women’s Performer of the Week honors after she placed second on the 5k course with a time of 17:52.50. Peck, of Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, led a group of four Syracuse runners who were at the front of the field, placing second through fifth.
Syracuse will join the rest of the league’s men’s and women’s teams at the ACC Cross Country Championships, set for this Friday at Panorama Farms in Charlottesville, Virginia. The Orange men enter the event as defending ACC champions.
