ACC Baseball: Seven Named Perfect Game Midseason All-Americans

Clemson’s Beer named Midseason Player and Freshman of the Year

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Seven ACC baseball student-athletes were named to Perfect Game’s Midseason College Baseball All-America Team, announced Thursday. In addition, the publication recognized Clemson’s Seth Beer as the national Midseason Player and Freshman of the Year.

The seven ACC representatives on the two teams are tied for the most from any conference in the country.

Beer was named the NCBWA Player of the Month for March and has had a stellar start to his freshman season. The Suwanee, Georgia, native leads the league and is second nationally with 13 home runs, has posted an on-base percentage of .538 and a batting average of .430, is second in the country with a .935 slugging percentage, and has struck out only nine times through 27 games played.

Louisville had the most players included on the two teams, SP Brendan McKay, 2B Nick Solak, and OF Corey Ray were recognized. Virginia UT Adam Haseley and Wake Forest DH Will Craig joined Beer and McKay on the first team, while Pitt SS Charles LeBlanc joined Solak and Ray on the second team.
