ACC Announces Date for 2016 ACC Wrestling Championship

League Grappling Championship to be Held at Virginia

GREENSBORO, N.C.—The Atlantic Coast Conference announced Thursday that its 2016 Wrestling Championship will be hosted by the University of Virginia and will be held in the John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, Va., on Sunday, March 6.

The starting time of the Championship will be announced at a later date.

Virginia, the 2015 ACC Wrestling champion, will be hosting the Championship for the 13th time. The Cavaliers last hosted the Championship in 2011, when it was also held in the JPJ Arena.

This will be the 61st annual ACC Wrestling Championship.

Six ACC schools sponsor intercollegiate wrestling in Duke, North Carolina, NC State, Pitt, Virginia and Virginia Tech and all six finished among the top 28 schools in the nation in last year’s NCAA Wrestling Championship.
