Virginia’s First Varsity Eight is composed of senior coxswain Sarah Jordan (Flourtown, Pa.); senior stroke Elle Murray (Tampa, Fla.); senior 7-seat Constanze Duell (Oberschlesissheim, Germany); junior 6-seat Chandler Lally (Bryn Mawr, Pa.); freshmen 5-seat Georgia Ratcliff (Falls Church, Va.); senior 4-seat Brandy Herald (Portland, Ore.); senior 3-seat Fiona Schlesinger (Surrey, United Kingdom); junior 2-seat Lizzy Youngling (Westport, Conn.) and junior Bow Hemingway Benton (Glencoe, Ill.).

UVa’s Varsity Eight is now undefeated this spring in seven races against nine opponents, six of whom are nationally-ranked.
Virginia, coached by Kevin Sauer, was ranked third nationally in the first two Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) polls of the year.
In being selected as the ACC’s Crew of the Week, the Cavaliers were chosen over strong performances by Syracuse’s First Varsity Eight crew, which captured the Orange Challenge Cup over Northeastern and Penn and won the Kittell Cup over Minnesota and Boston University on the Charles River in Boston; the North Carolina First Varsity Eight crew which won its heat and finished second at the Occoquan Sprints; and the First Varsity Eight crew of Duke, which defeated 20th-ranked Oregon State in a dual meet on Saturday.
The 2014 ACC Rowing Championship will be held on Saturday, May 17, on Lake Hartwell in Clemson, S.C.
