Maryland earns No. 1 seed
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Maryland holds the top seed for the 2014 Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Lacrosse Championship, which gets underway Friday, April 25 at PPL Park located in Chester, Pa., right outside of Philadelphia.
The Terrapins (10-2, 4-1 ACC) will play No. 4 seed Notre Dame (6-5, 2-3 ACC) in the second semifinal game at 7:30 p.m. Maryland topped the Irish 12-8 in both teams’ regular-season finale on April 19.
No. 2 seed Duke (12-2, 4-1 ACC) will meet No. 3 seed Syracuse (8-3, 2-3 ACC) in the first semifinal on Friday at 5 p.m. The Blue Devils earned a convincing 21-7 win over the Orange in the two team’s regular-season meeting on March 23. Since that game, Syracuse has won four straight games.
The ACC Championship will feature four of the nation’s top lacrosse programs as four teams are currently ranked among the top eight in both national polls.
The semifinals and championship will air on ESPNU and will be available on the WatchESPN app.
Virginia and North Carolina will play in the ACC Showcase on Saturday, April 26 at 7:30 p.m. That game will air on ESPN3.
