Notre Dame’s Jeremy Rae, Duke's Juliet Bottroff named ACC Cross Country Performers of the Week


GREENSBORO, N.C. – Notre Dame’s Jeremy Rae and Duke’s Juliet Bottorff have been named ACC Cross Country Performers of the Week following their competition this past weekend.

Rae, a graduate student from Fort Erie, Ontario, finished fifth overall in a field of 185 runners at the Notre Dame Invitational in South Bend, Ind., last Friday. Rae completed the 8k course with a time of 24:33.9, only 15.3 seconds behind the individual champion. Rae’s finish led the 22nd-ranked Irish to seventh place in the 27-team blue field competition that included No. 9 Princeton, No. 21 New Mexico, No. 25 Virginia and No. 26 Florida State.

In earning the performer of the week award for the second time in two weeks, Bottorff earned her second individual victory in as many meets this season with a first-place finish at the highly-competitive Notre Dame Invitational this past Friday in South Bend, Ind. The Newark, Del., graduate student covered the 5,000 meter distance in muddy and humid conditions on Notre Dame’s golf course in a time of 16:43.8. Bottorff averaged a 5:22 per mile pace and finished nine seconds ahead of the second-place finisher.
