Previous Weeks: 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7

RANK
(previous)
SCHOOL (Record)
1. --- | Last: #1

Florida State (4-0 ACC | 7-0 overall)
Last: W 31-27 vs. Notre Dame | Next: BYE Jeff's Take: 23 in a row. And Doug Rhoads explained the (correct) PI call that saved the Noles. That was a close one.

2. --- | Last: #2

Clemson (4-1 ACC | 5-2 overall)
Last: W 17-13 vs. Boston College | Next: 10/25 vs. Syracuse Jeff's Take: I hated hearing Adam Choice is down for the year with a torn ACL. Jordan Leggett is out a few weeks, too. Cole Stoudt must keep getting better.

3. 3 | Last: #6

Louisville (4-2 ACC | 6-2 overall)
Last: W 30-18 vs. NC State | Next: BYE Jeff's Take: The defense dominates, but Petrino wants more from the offense. It’s as if he’s looking around and asking, Is this it?

4. --- | Last: #4

Duke (2-1 ACC | 6-1 overall)
Last: W 20-13 vs. Virginia | Next: BYE Jeff's Take: Cutcliffe gets asked about becoming bowl eligible and he goes all Kendrick Lamar on the reporter. Impressive for the program that bowl eligibility was an afterthought.

5. 2 | Last: #3

Virginia (2-1 ACC | 4-3 overall)
Last: L 20-13 vs. Duke | Next: 10/25 vs. North Carolina Jeff's Take: UVA was required by law to lose to Duke in order to create more Coastal chaos in 2014. Coastal gonna coast. I’m letting the chaos flow through me.

6. 4 | Last: #10

Pitt (2-1 ACC | 4-3 overall)
Last: W 21-16 vs. Virginia Tech | Next: 10/25 vs. Georgia Tech Jeff's Take: The Panthers had lost 3 in a row, but put a stop to that vs Virginia Tech. Only 1 of those losses was in the ACC, so yes, Pitt is a threat to win the Coastal.

7. --- | Last: #7

Georgia Tech (2-2 ACC | 5-2 overall)
Last: L 48-43 vs. North Carolina | Next: 10/25 @ Pitt Jeff's Take: The Yellow Jackets had been 35-8 under Paul Johnson when they rush for 300 yards in a game. Make that 35-9. The defense needs to tighten up.

8. 1 | Last: #9

Miami (1-2 ACC | 4-3 overall)
Last: BYE | Next: 10-/23 @ Virginia Tech Jeff's Take: Brad Kaaya and Canes had a bye. No, not that kind. As you may have heard, haters gonna hate.. but the defense is top 25 in the nation right now.

9. 4 | Last: #5

Virginia Tech (1-2 ACC | 4-3 overall)
Last: L 21-16 vs. Pitt | Next: 10/23 vs. Miami Jeff's Take: The most disheartening part of the loss to Pitt had to be the Hokies’ complete inability to establish a running game. Jason Mraz won’t do it, but I give up trying to figure this team out.

10. 2 | Last: #12

North Carolina (1-2 ACC | 3-4 overall)
Last: w 48-43 vs. Georgia Tech | Next: 10/25 @ Virginia Jeff's Take: Did Fedora turn this team inside out to pull out the win? I’m not convinced. The defense allowed over 600 yards.

11. 3 | Last: #8

Boston College (1-2 ACC | 4-3 overall)
Last: L 17-13 vs. Clemson | Next: 10/25 @ Wake Forest Jeff's Take: Am I being harsh considering the Eagles were a dropped TD pass from beating Clemson? Maybe I’ll ship something to Boston as an apology.

12. 1 | Last: #11

NC State (0-4 ACC | 4-4 overall)
Last: L 30-18 vs. Louisville | Next: BYE Jeff's Take: Win 4 straight. Lose 4 straight. What next? Doeren’s still never won a conference game, but the last 4 are winnable.

13. --- | Last: #13

Syracuse (1-2 ACC | 3-4 overall)
Last: W 30-7 vs. Wake Forest | Next: 10/25 @ Clemson Jeff's Take: Cuse wins the battle for no.13. It may not seem like much, but some love the number 13. Ahh. Ahh. Ahh.

14. --- | Last: #14

Wake Forest (0-3 ACC | 2-5 overall)
Last: L 30-7 vs. Syracuse | Next: 10/25 vs. Boston College Jeff's Take: The overall defensive stats are very good, especially when you consider the D is on the field way too much because the offense has struggled so much.
