Four Teams Ranked in GCAA Preseason Poll

Georgia Tech, Virginia lead ACC squads

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Four ACC men’s golf teams are ranked in the Golf Coaches Association of America preseason poll, announced Thursday.

The league contingent is led by Georgia Tech at No. 3. The Yellow Jackets, the defending conference champions, earned one first-place vote and trail Alabama and Oklahoma State who tied for the top spot.

Virginia enters the season at No. 13 with 264 points, followed by No. 17 Florida State, and No. 23 Virginia Tech. Wake Forest and Clemson also received votes.

All six ACC teams that received votes in the preseason poll earned bids to NCAA Regionals last year. Three squads – Florida State, Georgia Tech, and Virginia Tech – advanced to the NCAA Championship, where the Yellow Jackets advanced to the quarterfinals.
