GREENSBORO, N.C. – Louisville sophomore midfielder Andrew Brody has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Soccer Player of the Week after leading the Cardinals to a victory over No. 2 Maryland on Friday.

Brody headed in the only goal of the match in the 54th minute of play to lift the ninth-ranked Louisville squad to a 1-0 victory over the Terrapins in the season-opener for both clubs.

Playing in front of a standing room only crowd of 7,047 in the Cardinals’ debut match at Dr. Mark and Cindy Lynn Stadium, Brody received a cross from Ricardo Velazco and sent it into the upper left corner of the net for the decisive goal, the fourth career tally for the native of Orlando, Fla.
