Five league schools represented
GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Six Atlantic Coast Conference men’s soccer student-athletes have been named to National Soccer Coaches Association of America’s All-America Teams, as announced Friday. The six players recognized from the ACC is twice as many as from any other conference.
Maryland senior forward Patrick Mullins and Notre Dame senior forward Harrison Shipp, two of the three finalists for the MAC Hermann Trophy, were named to the NSCAA All-America First Team.
Collecting All-America Second Team honors was Clemson senior midfielder Thomas McNamara. Duke senior defender Sebastian Ibeagha, Notre Dame senior defender Grant Van De Casteele, and Virginia junior midfielder Eric Bird garnered third-team accolades.
All six ACC All-America selections were also named to NSCAA All-Region First Teams, announced last week. The ACC collected a national-best 26 regional honors.
