Local veterans to attend ACC Men’s Basketball Championship Game.
GREENSBORO, NC – The Atlantic Coast Conference will honor America by recognizing the men and women of the Armed Forces during the 2014 ACC Tournament championship game on Sunday, March 16.
This marks the ninth year that the ACC and Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) have combined forces for a championship event. In addition to the ACC Tournament, the ACC and WWP team up for the ACC Football Championship Game, ACC Baseball Championship, ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament and other ACC Championships every year.
Wounded Warrior Project® is a non-profit organization whose mission is to honor and empower Wounded Warriors who incurred service-connected injuries on or after Sept. 11, 2001. With the goal of making a positive, lasting impact on the lives of injured service members, WWP is the hand extended to encourage warriors as they adjust to their new normal and achieve new triumphs. The National Anthem will be sung by CAMMO and Sony Music Veteran Artists 4TROOPS, four decorated Veterans whose service spans from the campaigns in Central America to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
