@ACCBaseball: Seven Named Louisville Slugger Freshman All-Americans

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Seven players from the Atlantic Coast Conference garnered Louisville Slugger Freshman All-America accolades on Wednesday, as announced by Collegiate Baseball newspaper.

The contingent is led by Miami C Zack Collins, the ACC Freshman of the Year, and includes five players that were selected to the All-ACC teams: Maryland 2B Brandon Lowe, Miami RP Bryan Garcia and Collins, NC State 3B Knizner, and Virginia SS Daniel Pinero.

Maryland SP Mike Shawaryn and Wake Forest 3B Will Craig were also selected to the Freshman All-America team.

The seven freshman honorees ranks as the second most of any conference, and comes a week after the ACC led all leagues with nine Louisville Slugger All-Americans.

Shawaryn, Lowe, and Pinero will face each other this weekend when the Terrapins and Cavaliers play in the NCAA Super Regionals with a trip to the College World Series on the line.
