Weekend of events includes tree lighting ceremony, Night of Legends and ACC FanFest.
CHARLOTTE, NC – Below is a schedule of events surrounding the 2013 ACC Football Championship Game.
Thursday, Dec. 5:
Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Square: The Atlantic Coast Conference will join in Uptown Charlotte’s Holidays in the City festivities for the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 5. The Charlotte Center City Partners event will be held at The Square, located at the intersection of Trade and Tryon Streets and will feature the ACC mascots along with holiday music, dancing, strolling performers and singers, and Santa Claus.
Friday, Dec. 6:
ACC Night of Legends presented by The Belk Bowl: The ACC will host the ACC Night of Legends on Friday, Dec. 6 at the Charlotte Convention Center. The signature event will recognize a Legend from each ACC institution as well as the 2013 ACC Football season's award winners. The gala will embody the true spirit of ACC Football and will offer attendees the opportunity to meet some of the biggest names in college football. A reception will be held from 6 – 7 p.m., with the dinner and awards presentation beginning at 7 p.m. Night of Legends event tickets are still available but are selling quickly. ACC Football Fan Central at EpiCentre: EpiCentre, a popular Uptown Charlotte destination, will serve as headquarters for all Atlantic Coast Conference football fans on Dec. 6, the night before the Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship game. ACC Football Fan Central starts at 7 p.m. with a battle of the Atlantic and Coastal division pep bands at 9 p.m. The event also features special appearances by ACC team mascots and cheerleaders.
Saturday, Dec. 7:
ACC Championship Chase 5K Presented by Harris Teeter: The third annual ACC Championship Chase 5K presented by Harris Teeter will take place the morning of Saturday, Dec 7. The race will serve as the official kickoff of the Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship day festivities. Race-day registration, packet pick-up and chip pick-up will take place 7:00 – 7:45 am. The race will start at 8 a.m. with the start/finish line located at the intersection of 3rd Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Uptown Charlotte. ACC mascots and cheerleaders will be on hand to root on participants throughout the course. Post-race celebration will take place at the Wells Fargo Plaza on South Tyron Street between East Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and 3rd street. The post-race party will feature the awards ceremony, food, beverages, live entertainment and all of the ACC mascots and cheerleaders. ACC FanFest presented by AT&T: Free to the general public, ACC FanFest activities will run from noon until 7 p.m. adjacent to Bank of America Stadium on Mint and Graham Streets. Rain or shine, ACC FanFest will encompass a large area of interactive games, team bands, mascots, pep rallies, Corporate Champion attractions and giveaways, food and beverages, live entertainment and autograph opportunities with ACC Legends. Fans will also have the opportunity to purchase official game merchandise and game programs.

Cheer Clinic and Performance: The Atlantic Coast Conference will hold its annual Cheer Practice for Performance on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 5-7 p.m. on the Carolina Panthers practice field outside of Bank of America Stadium. Partnering with the Universal Cheerleaders Association, the event provides youth cheerleaders the opportunity to receive private instruction from world renowned UCA staff, meet and greet with ACC cheerleaders and learn and perform a routine on the field before the Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship Game.
ACC Youth Skills & Drills Clinic: The Atlantic Coast Conference will hold its annual Youth Football Skills & Drills Clinic on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 4-7 p.m. on the Carolina Panthers practice field outside of Bank of America Stadium. Powered by USA Football, the clinic will put youth participants through a series of non-contact football skills and drills, including the 40-yard dash, the quarterback sack station, the running back challenge and the field goal kick. Partnering with USA Football, Dick’s Sporting Goods, NCAA Youth Football and Fuel Pizza and Wings, the event provides youth football participants with a great way to have a fun end of the season football experience.
2013 Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship: The 2013 Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship Game will be played Dec. 7 in primetime at Charlotte’s Bank of America Stadium. The nationally televised game will feature the Atlantic Division Champion, Florida State, against the Coastal Division Champion.
