Women’s Tennis Weekly Awards

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – North Carolina’s Alexa Graham and Virginia’s Meghan Kelley have been named ACC Women’s Tennis Co-Players of the Week, and Boston College’s Laura Lopez and North Carolina’s Cameron Morra have been selected as Co-Freshmen of the Week.
 
Graham was crucial to North Carolina’s 5-2 win over No. 2 Vanderbilt on the road. The junior form Garden City, New York, defeated No. 15-ranked Christina Rosca at No. 2 singles, 6-3, 6-0. Graham also partnered with Jessie Aney in doubles for a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles over Rosca and Emma Kurtz.
 
Kelley clinched the win 4-3 win for Virginia over No. 10 Syracuse on the road. The senior from Falmouth, Maine, defeated No. 43-ranked Gabriela Knutson at the No. 1 singles position, 7-6, 7-6 (3). Kelley also paired up with Hunter Bleser for a No. 3 doubles win over Dina Hegab and Guzal Yusupova.
 
Lopez clinched Boston College’s first-ever top-10 win, earning the victory over No. 10 Syracuse at home. The rookie from Barcelona, Spain, defeated Hegab at No. 5 singles, 7-6 (5), 6-3.
 
Morra won both her singles and doubles matches in the win over No. 2 Vanderbilt. The rookie from Rockville, Maryland, won the No. 4 singles match over 71st-ranked Carolyn Campana (7-5, 7-5), and then teamed up with Makenna Jones at No. 2 doubles for a 6-2 win over the 25th-ranked pair of Fernanda Contreras and Summer Dvorak.
