Cross Country Performers of the Week Announced

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – The Atlantic Coast Conference today recognized the league’s Cross Country Performers of the Week for September 26.

 
ACC Men’s Performer of the Week – Aidan Tooker, Syracuse, Jr., Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
Tooker paced all five Syracuse scorers into the top 13 at the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown last Friday at Boston’s Franklin Park as the Orange men dominated the field and easily led the team scoring. Tooker posted an 8K time of 24:02.5 to finish in second place behind USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week Amon Kemboi of Campbell – by 0.3 seconds – in what was Tooker’s first race of the season.
 
ACC Women’s Performer & Freshman of the Week – Abbey Green, Virginia, Fr., Bethesda, Md.
Green led all ACC women’s competitors and took third place overall with a 5K time of 17:16.8 in the Battle in Beantown. Green led all freshman runners in the event and keyed the Cavaliers to an eighth-place finish in a 24-team field that included six squads ranked among the nation’s top 30.
 
ACC Men’s Freshman of the Week – James Cragin, Georgia Tech, Fr., Lawrenceville, Ga.
In his first collegiate meet, Cragin placed 64th in the Battle in Beantown with an 8K time of 25:26.4. Cragin, who led all ACC men’s true freshmen runners in the meet and placed fourth among Georgia Tech runners, set an average pace of 5:07 and helped the Yellow Jackets grab a ninth-place overall finish amongst 23 teams, five of which were ranked among the nation’s top 30.
